Glenn Dahl - Obituary
Glenn Laverne, son of Louis and Leona Dahl, was born April 24, 1932 at Glenwood City. He gre up here and attended grade school at Pine Heights and High school at Glenwood City. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the Navy and took his boot training at Great Lakes. He then attended Electrician School there. After finishing this course he went to Norfolk, VA., wher he was a storekeeper for some time. On December 17, 1951, he went to Newport, Rhode Island and received training at a disbursement schook, going back to Norfolk, VA as a disbursement clerk, a position he held until his discharge on May 28, 1953, having served his country four years.
After his discharge he was employed as a machinist at the Ordinance Plant at New Brighton, Minn.
On September 5, 1953, he was married to Adeline Graese. They made their home in Minneapolis, Minn.
After a short illness he passed away at St. Joseph's hospital, Rice Lake. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Adeline; his parents; three brothers, Donald, Wayne and Roger and one sister, Carol, all of Glenwood City. Also many other relative and friends. He wa preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 15 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the Rev. E. S. Skaar officiating. Rev. Frederick Dahl, Glenn's uncle, also spoke on behalf of the family. The American Legion conducted military services at the grave side in the City Cemetery.
Pallbeares were Walter Graese, Ewald Koepsel, Orville Koosmann, David Wold, Stanley Nyhus and Robert Paul.
Relative from St. Croix Falls, Baldwin, Minneapolis, White Bear, Appleton, Desmoines, Iowa and Rice Lake Attended the funeral services.
